Things are looking up

BAD GAG ALERT
With the advent of drones, as with many new bits of kit, it wasn’t long before we were inundated with lots of dross but also some wonderful, affordable cinematography. Then came new angles of photography and I won’t lie, I wanted in. My first issue is one that I am so typical like many men; I don’t read manuals. I was once gifted a remote control helicopter. Took it out the box, charged it up, went outside, gave it the beans, flew it into a building and watched it tumble through a tree to the floor. This time though, I not only read the manuals, I spent time understanding the lot.
It doesn’t come out on every shoot and I know that I still have many hours of creating with it ahead of me, but I love it. The weakest part, for mine, is the rubbish iPhone connector that every now and again means connection drops out, normally at the point of highest/furthest flying away from me, but at least my hours of practicing means I can bring it back while the iPhone blinks at me blankly and seemingly thinking my drone is lost.
I’m working on a few projects that will see me shooting out of a helicopter in 2019 but until they happen, this isn’t a bad way to see things.
I hope you enjoy the images.
